In other parts of South America, pitanga is known as guapuro, cerisier de Cayenne, or cereza. In the Caribbean, it is known as nerprun maroon and zacotillo in Cuba. In the Philippines, it is called "sarisa" or "makopa. " In India, it is known as "Pyari," and in Indonesia, it is called "skrivan."
