The Blue-headed Vireo, also known as the Solitary Vireo, is a small woodland bird that is best recognized by its distinctive blue-gray head. However, there are many other names this species goes by in different parts of its range. In Canada, it is referred to as the "Brooks's Vireo," while in Mexico and Central America it is known as the "Greenlet." In some areas of the United States, it is called the "Slate-colored Vireo." Despite the varying names, these birds can be easily identified by their blue-gray crowns, olive-green backs, and yellow underparts. They are often heard singing a series of musical notes that can be quite pleasant to the ear.
