Tulip poplar, also known as tulip tree or yellow poplar, is a popular hardwood tree found in the eastern parts of North America. The tree is known for its tall stature and beautiful tulip-like flowers during springtime. Although "tulip poplar" is the most common name, the tree can also be referred to as a canoe wood tree or whitewood. Other synonyms include fiddle tree, tulipwood, yellowwood, and American whitewood.
