Tragulus Kanchil, commonly known as the Lesser Mouse Deer, is a small species of deer found in Southeast Asia. The animal's name varies across different languages and regions, with "Kanchil" or "Kanchin" being the most common. Other synonyms for Tragulus Kanchil include the Java mouse-deer, Philippine mouse-deer, Napu deer, as well as the Chevrotain. The Chevrotain, which is French for "little goat", is a general term for four species of small, deer-like animals found in tropical and subtropical Asia and Africa.
