William Seward Burroughs was an American novelist, essayist, and poet. He was popularly known as WSB, and there are several synonyms attributed to him. Some of the commonly used synonyms are "The Naked Lunch Author" as Naked Lunch is probably his most famous work. He is also referred to as "The Beat Iconoclast," reflecting his association with the Beat Generation literary movement. WSB was also called the "Postmodern Counterculture Guru" due to his unique and often unconventional approach to writing. Additionally, he was also known as "The Junkie Novelist" because of his struggles with addiction and his often drug-fueled writing style.
