Nycticebus tardigradua is a species of slow loris found in Southeast Asia. It is commonly known as the Bornean slow loris or the tardigrade slow loris. The word tardigrade means slow-moving and refers to the loris' slow and deliberate movements. Other synonyms for this species include the Philippine slow loris, the Javan slow loris, and the Bornean pygmy slow loris. Despite their cute and cuddly appearance, slow lorises are often subjected to illegal trade for the exotic pet trade and for their use in traditional medicine.
