Genus Charina is a group of non-venomous snakes commonly known as Rubber Boas. However, there are some other synonyms used for the same group of species. Some of these synonyms include the Western Rubber Boa, Pacific Rubber Boa, Northern Rubber Boa, and Southern Rubber Boa. Other less common synonyms for the Genus Charina include Charina umbratica and Charina bottae. These species are commonly distributed in Western North America, from British Columbia to Mexico.
